I used to have two lemon trees growing in my backyard. Since I had lemons to spare, I’ve been able to find many interesting uses for them. If you’re ever in need of interesting ideas for how to use lemons, try these.

1. Salty Avocados With Lemon

This is my favorite use for lemons. Slice a fresh lemon into quarters. Take a raw, whole avocado. Slice it in half and remove the pit. Squeeze lemon juice onto the avocado. Add a bit of salt, and eat the avocado with a spoon. Add more lemon or salt if necessary.

This is one of the easiest ways I can think of to introduce more raw food into your diet. It makes a great replacement for cooked vegetables; what a quick, easy, yummy way to increase your intake of raw food. It’s one of the simplest appetizers ever.

2. Lemon Juice Salad Dressing

Lemon juice makes an ideal lowfat, low-calorie dressing for salads or fresh vegetable dishes. Instead of drowning your salads in fattening dressing, you can squeeze a bit of lemon over top of each bite. This works particularly well on salads comprised of sweet ingredients such as cucumbers, carrots, iceberg lettuce, and tomatoes. Lemon is delightful to serve with spinach salads as well.

3. Baked, Broiled or Breaded Fish With Lemon

Squeeze lemon juice on top of any baked, broiled or breaded fish dish. Lemon compliments fish perfectly. You can add other seasonings as well. In my opinion fish needs very little seasoning other than lemon, but your fish will be delicious if you want to add onions, garlic, pepper, or other seasonings.

4. Lemon Water

My favorite restaurants all serve water garnished with lemon slices. Why not try this at home too? Treat your loved ones to a fine-dining experience right at home. This is such an easy way to make sure everyone gets a dose of natural vitamin C.

5. Iced Tea With Lemon

Iced tea is much tastier when you add a little squirt of lemon to it.

6. Hot Tea With Lemon

Lemon is the perfect complement to hot tea, and it also goes well with a variety of of tisanes and herbal teas. Add a spoonful of honey for an even tastier, more flavorful treat.
